Jenny DeVaughn redefines what it means to be connected.
As the senior director, employment branding, mobile and social media for Randstad Sourceright, a talent consultancy, she is consistently ranked among LinkedIn’s top 10 most connected women and remains an expert voice for emerging networking technology, strategy and development.
DeVaughn joined Randstad Sourceright when the company’s talent acquisition organization strategy needed a complete overhaul. She brought a fresh perspective to the company’s recruiting strategy after internal clients felt their business needs were not being met.
Using social media as the foundation for the company’s recruiting, retention and employment branding initiatives, DeVaughn, 37, transformed how the company identified and developed its employees, significantly increasing the flow of candidates where a talent pool was once perceived as dwindling.
Through this talent and development program transformation, DeVaughn became known for her social media savvy, which played an integral role in helping companies spot high-potential employees. As an early adopter of emerging technology, she shapes the way organizations recruit employees and develop their brands using online resources including social media platforms.
DeVaughn says she believes the best way to develop connections is through making good impressions and maintaining relationships, a practice she continues to develop.
“Continue to pay-it-forward to others and treat people with respect; you never know who he/she knows that could help you in the future,” she says.
Before joining Randstad Sourceright, DeVaughn was the social media manager for Waste Management Inc. where she created and executed the company’s corporate social media strategy. She managed the Fortune 500 company’s social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter for more than 20 million customers and more than 40,000 employees.
Now, as the leader at the Randstad Sourceright Employment Branding and Social Media Center of Expertise, DeVaughn continues to teach and develop strategic recruitment campaigns to help the company’s global clients enhance their online brand presence and discover fresh talent. She also continues to educate the recruitment industry on social media strategy.
“I’m honored to be one of the most connected women on LinkedIn,” DeVaughn says. “I’ve worked hard for this recognition, however, I will not abuse its power by spamming my network.”
