Workforce Magazine Announces 2013 Optimas Award Winners
Chicago, Dec. 9, 2013 — Workforce magazine, the business magazine serving the needs of human resources professionals since 1922, has announced the winners of its Optimas Awards for 2013.
Winners are recognized for identifying a business issue within their organization and successfully implementing a solution that generates significant results. Companies of all sizes are eligible to enter the Optimas Awards.
Now in its 22nd year, Optimas Award winners are selected by the Workforce editorial staff based on tangible business results. This year’s categories include:
· Benefits
· Business Impact
· Corporate Citizenship
· Global Outlook
· Innovation
· Managing Change
· Partnership
· Recruiting
· Training
· Vision
A company that succeeds in six of these categories is eligible for the coveted General Excellence award. This year’s General Excellence winner is Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware Co., a nonprofit that was able to thrive during the Great Recession by recruiting and training welfare recipients to handle a surplus of donations.
"The Optimas Awards were established to celebrate innovative HR programs and initiatives,” said Mike Prokopeak, editorial director of the Human Capital Media Group, which publishes Workforce magazine. “Winners harnessed sometimes limited resources to deliver significant success, proving a strong HR function is key to a thriving organization.”
