Worked for ML for over 8 years, last year he\\\'s laid off too. OMG, now the banking industry is badly hurt, how long it would take for those financial background like him get back to the job market. I recently was laid off from Starbucks Corporate Palace with NO NOTICE. In fact, they offered some nominal severence, however you need to sign away all your rights to any claim for anything forever (they have a large cadre of attorneys that spent LOTs of time developing this document). I thought it was shameful for them to NOT provide any notice (totally against the culture that Howard preaches) and then renege on vacation benefits earned but not taken, because of a hidden clause I can relate directly to this issue.
