I have a PhD from United States and working in a reputed pharma company. If the lottery is crude random procedure, there is a very big chance me loosing the visa to someone who got masters from an online Masters program. The best solution is to have some point system like in countries UK or Canada in giving weight to the candidates based on their degree levels and the universities that they got degrees from. It's all about the money. Now that is one of the saddest, most poorly thought out proposals I've ever heard of! Has anyone bothered to read that great poem on the Statue of Liberty lately? "Give me your tired, your poor. Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. The wretched refuse of your teeming shores. Send these, the homeless, tempest tosed to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door." Under this proposal, I guess someone should cross out most of that poem that welcomed our own poor or desperate ancestors...all we need of it now is "Give me your gold" If I understand this correctly, alien sports stars and popular entertainment personalities would be guaranteed approval, while talented teachers, nurses, or artists would be out of luck.
