You're not mentioning Zell and Michael's other major minion, Lee Abrams. Also brought in from radio, he's the "VP of Innovation" at Tribune. Every day we have to read his stupid ramblings about why none of us are any good. He demeans employees in this company blog. And although he's the "idea" guy, he never contributes, he just sits and listens and we're supposed to come up with the ideas in front of him. His blog has specific helpful advice such as, "You've got to go down to the river of opportunity, scoop a handful of dreams and rise to the challenges of a new day." And then they replace you.

Although my employer is a small time business owner--he could run with the likes of Zell, Michaels, etc. In June, I couldn't hire people fast enough. In August he let them go so that he could finance a remodeling project for which he didn't accrue.

Not sure if you're conducting a poll or just seeking comments, but I'll just add: Zell, Michaels & Co. not only want the employees to laugh all the way to the unemployment line; they're just boobs, period.

Their innovative idea of turning around the newspaper industry: Redesign the papers! (As if newspapers haven't been constantly redesigning themselves since about the time Gutenberg rolled out the bulldog edition of the Bible.)

Zell, Michaels & Co. are bad businessmen. Really bad.
