HR Training Curricula: Web-based social networking continues to carve a niche
for itself in the world of employee learning. The latest evidence is a
partnership between SelectMinds Inc., a New York-based company that specializes
in corporate social networks, and the Human Capital Institute, a professional
association. SelectMinds says it will underwrite HCI’s education and training
track, a series of initiatives to help HR professionals learn how Internet
technologies can increase collaboration and promote teamwork. Investors
apparently believe in the value of corporate social networks: SelectMinds
recently received $5.5 million in expansion capital from a consortium of equity
investors.
